Almost forgot — while visual recording isn’t allowed in the casino, nothing was mentioned about audio recordings. Many new-fangled casinos actually shower the gaming floor with a constant blissful hum, for atmosphere, but Fond-Du-Luth wasn’t using a track as far as I could tell. So, I walked around with a microphone tucked against my sternum, recording the constant slots as they whirred, dinged, roared, and purred.
After listening to the short field recording of the casino, I decided to spackle it together with some other audio to create a BBC Radiophonic Workshop meets Fond-Du-Luth style collage (also, partly inspired by this).
